'The bed is a key focal demonstrate in the room so I always try to dress it beautifully with a tremendous bedspread, cushions and a throw across the bottom of the bed. I change the throw and cushions depending on the time of year, white faux fur in winter and a lighter weight more pashmina style throw in the summer. Textured layers always look fantastic on a bed.' says Chrissie Rucker, founder of The White Company.
'Layers on a bed not only look tremendous, but help those of us with partners find our smart temperature too. If you tend to be warmer than your partner, a cotton bedspread and throw that can be pulled up if obliged works really well for you both.'
We'd say pick a crisp white or near to white set, and go with something that is made from 100% natural fibers – cotton (Egyptian if you are feeling extraordinary fancy), silk or linen. And look out for high-thread subsidizes too, between 180 and 300 is what you are while.

'Lighting is necessary for creating a romantic atmosphere.' says Mary Buchanan of Laura Ashley lighting. 'Layer lighting to avoid it becoming lackluster and deprived of ambiance; a combination of wall lights, table lamps and depressed lamps are perfecting for doing this, as placing ftrips at different heights is how you can create a handsome, cosy feel. Dimmer switches are a fantastic option, if you need to take a bedroom from practical to passionate.'
